Can my online store staff access payments and banking?

hello, I have a question can the staff on my Shopify take over the account, and do they have access to payments and banking accounts?

What are you looking to get help with from your staff? Are there specific areas of the Shopify admin that you'd like to give them extra permissions for? 

 

For context, there's a way to give a staff member on your store sensitive permissions, which will allow them to edit your billing information, pay invoices, and manage some of your store's payment settings. You can learn more about assigning sensitive permissions to a staff in this guide.

 

Keep in mind, however, that despite assigning sensitive permissions to a staff member, there are certain aspects that are still only accessible and available to be completed by the account owner of the store only. This is a precaution that Shopify takes to keep your account and store safe. The list of actions that can only be completed by an account owner can be found here.

 

You can, if you wish, transfer your store's ownership to one of your current staff members so that their account becomes the account owner instead. If you're technically still the owner of the business however, I highly suggest that you continue to stay as account owner of the store. This is because an account owner will have access to the most sensitive information of a store—for example, only the account owner of a store can change the bank details of your Shopify Payments account, or deactivate the store completely.

 

Due to this, and for security reasons, I encourage you to stick as account owner of the store and assign sensitive permissions to specific staff members instead.
