Experiencing issues with Afterpay for cross-border transactions?

Hi

 

I'm curious if anyone has successfully set up cross-border transactions with Afterpay. I have an Afterpay account, and accessing the feature is not an issue when people are in Australia. 

 

After looking at the Afterpay website, it appears that buyers in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States have access to Afterpay. Additionally, it mentions that you need to register for a Clearpay account to enable this feature for the United Kingdom.

 

Despite this information, I have received reports from customers in the United States who are unable to check out with Afterpay. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if there is a solution available.

Hi Kellsie,

I'm having the same issue. I have been working with Clearpay/Afterpay for weeks but this is what they came back with this morning.

 

"Hi Chris,

Thank you for providing the login details.

Shopify has indicated that this is currently a known limitation, and that to ensure that the payment method is always displayed at checkout, merchants can disable the multi-currency feature on their store.

It should be relatively straightforward, I'm really not sure what the problem is.

Hi Chris

 

I've been trying to work with them too, but unfortunately, I haven't had any luck either. I've even had people in America tell me that the Afterpay option isn't showing up at checkout, despite Afterpay's assurances that everything is set up properly. It's definitely been more difficult than it should be.
