How can I calculate separate shipping for a 3-pack product variant?

Hi, 

I want to offer a 3-pack discounted option on my product page as one of the variants that the user can select (see screenshot).

The problem is that I would still like to send it in 3 separate boxes. I am using the UPS automated shipping calculator, which considers the 3-pack variant as one product, generating only one shipping label. 

Is there a way to ensure the users get the correct shipping costs for three boxes, not one? (without an app)
