I am living in India . I created a drop shipping store so that I can dropship products to European countries . So I want to setup payment function for India to accept international payments . I tried Shopify payments, it is not working, also tried paypal not working. Infact i got about 30 checkouts but no one bought because of the payment issue. Please find me the suitable solution for this issue
Hey @Fayas
Welcome to the Shopify Community!
It sounds like your store is based in India, therefore you won't be able to use Shopify Payments as it is not currently available to use for India based stores.
However, there are other payment gateways that you can use, many of which will allow you to accept payments from all over the world. Feel free to consult with our payment gateways for India page here, which outlines all of the currently available payment gateways that you can use on your store.
PayPal is listed as available in India - could you share more information on what you meant by not working? Are you seeing any errors or warnings when trying to set up PayPal on your store?
I would also recommend referring to our help center documentation which explains a little more about how third-party payment gateways work, and how you can set them up.
How is the rest of your store setup going? You mentioned that you are dropshipping on your Shopify store. We actually have a fantastic guide to dropshipping here that I would highly recommend checking out. What kind of products will you be selling? There are a huge amount of products available for dropshipping, and sometimes it can be difficult to decide which ones to sell. If you need some help with honing your product selection and deciding what to sell, feel free to have a read of this helpful resource.

@Rick To answer your question -
"PayPal is listed as available in India - could you share more information on what you meant by not working? Are you seeing any errors or warnings when trying to set up PayPal on your store? "
Answer:
The reason why Paypal never gets invoked in India is this: Paypal accepts only cross currency transactions. In India, the transaction currency is INR. However due to unavailability of shopify payments, local currencies of users (USD, Pound etc) cant be shown to users during checkout. They all are shown only INR due to this limitation. So Paypal will not be displayed for a checkout that is done in INR. Its almost impossible to expand our store for global without multiple domains managed separately if our primary currency is INR.
Hi @aumnicrafts
Thanks for joining in!
I understand what you mean. Yes, you are correct in saying that when using PayPal as a payment gateway in India, it only supports purchases made in United States Dollars (USD). This is a limitation of the PayPal integration, and we have no way to change this requirement. If you are using PayPal Express Checkout, you can't receive domestic INR payments.
If you wanted to process transactions in INR, then you would need to look for an alternative payment provider. As Shopify Payments is not available in India, you would need to choose a different third-party payment gateway from this list. Perhaps the CCAvenue gateway would be more suitable? From looking at their website it appears that you can collect payments in 27 major foreign currencies, however as they are third-party to us it would be best to direct any queries you have about their gateway and Shopify integration straight to them. I found this contact page on their website that you can use to get support.
There is also this dedicated Shopify Community post here that has some great information for learning more about managing your payments while running your Shopify store in India.
