How can we calculate dimensional weight for check out in Shopify with Acumatica ERP?

New to Shopify. We are setting up with Acumatica ERP at the same time as moving our eComm to Shopify. We want to offer the customer calculated dimensional weights during check out. Shipping and fulfillment will be done inside Acumatica then sent back to Shopify.

After learning that Shopify only calculates from the weight and a single box size. This will not work for us and we might as well stick to our flat rate table.

We have also learned that Shopify doesn't easily exclude anything from promotional codes and absolutely no exclusions from Free Shipping options. Also not something we can live with as we have large items that require additional shipping (we have that set up) but if a free shipping code is used it removes all shipping including the product specific shipping.  

• We need something that is going to calculate the dimensional weight of items correctly.
• Not remove shipping on specified items.
• Not require us to process the labels within in Shopify.

@AmyAvery thanks for the information. Sounds like this is just a shipping solution (which we already have in the form of Acumatica). I need something on the front end only for customers to see the correct dimensional weights during checkout. Is that possible thru your app?

Did you end up finding a solution for dimensional weights within Shopify? Or was your solution found outside of Shopify? I'm facing the exact same questions here in mid-2023...

No solution. We are still looking at shipping solutions (3rd party apps) here on Shopify. Nothing that meets all our needs yet. Along with dimensional weights we also need to be able to have product specific shipping which is proving just as difficult to find.

We have a few items drop shipped for us and need to add specific charges to those products. I know we could fudge that with the weigh and dimensions of the products in question.  Another issue we are finding is that we use Acumatica ERP and need to figure out how/where we are putting the product dimensions in Shopify or if this needs to be manually entered into whatever shipping app we eventually find.
