Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
Hi All,
I would like to get help for setting the payment in Shopify. I am new here and trying to learn. My LLC is in USA but i am non-residence and currently in Myanmar. So meaning, i have EIN for business, but no SSN. As my research, i found Shopify payment and Paypal payment are commonly best payments to set up. But unfortunately, Shopify payment set up looks required SSN. and Paypal is currently unavailable in my country. So could you please advise me to set up payments which one to go and how can i solve this issue, (I have Stripe account though).
PS: would it be possible to have multiple dropshipping shopify stores under 1 LLC and can i switch another LLC later on after incorporated dedicated for those shopify stores.
Thanks all for you response and advise.
Hello @ahkarmyokyaw!
This is Lana from Shopify.
When it comes to payment gateways, as you may have already seen their availability will depend on where you are based.
You did mention that your LLC is in the US even though you're not currently living there, so I wanted to clarify for you that in order to be able to us a US supported payment gateway, you need to be able to prove either a physical or business presence there.
This is important because if that proof is requested and you're unable to provide it, the gateway will be disabled on your store and it would put a stop to your operations, which would be inconvenient for you and your customers.
Just in case, below you can see what gateways are available in both regions:
If you can prove your business presence in the United States, I recommend you look into our own Shopify Payments gateway as an option. It has certain advantages over using a third party gateway, such as the ability to manage all payouts and settings within the Shopify admin, as well as 0% transaction rates and low credit card fees. For more information on the Shopify Payments gateway and how you can set it up, please see our help doc on the topic here.
However, if you instead have to choose a Myanmar supported gateway, then for the setup you will first need to create an account on their website first, and then you can follow these steps here to set it up.
Regarding your dropshipping question - yes! It is possible to have multiple dropshipping stores under 1 LLC, however if you want the stores to be separate from each other, it would involve paying for separate plans as well.
On the topic of dropshipping - are you new to it or have you done this before? Regardless, you should check out our Shopify Compass Course on Dropshipping. It's a fantastic resource for finding your footing in the dropshipping world and also it is completely free!
Let me know if you have any other questions and I will be happy to help you out.
Thanks! -Lana
