How to limit address field input to 35 characters for UK shipping?

Hi, we are shipping from the UK and there is a character length maximum of 35 characters allowed in any one of the address fields by the Royal Mail service. Does anyone know how to limit customers input to a maximum of 35 characters per line when they enter their address?
