How to mark and order partially paid using Transaction API?

Hello,

I have a private app that we use to mark paid orders created with Manual payment methods, using the Transaction API.

It is possible to mark an order fully paid, but we have the need to mark the orders partially paid when the customer decides to pay a part immediately and the rest upon delivery.

But I still didn't find a documented way to do that. Do you have any suggestions or idea?
