Payment captures are failing. Payment Gateway Error

This just started happening today when trying to capture authorized payments. Please advise.

Same here.  All our credit card transactions are getting a payment gateway error, both on the computer as well as through our Shopify POS terminal.  Is there an outage of some sort at Shopify?

The same thing is happening to me.  Embarrassed customers.  Trying multiple credit cards!  4:02 p.m., Virginia.

I just got off the phone with Shopify after 30 minutes of holding and they said everything is back up and running.

Wow! This was totally unacceptable and def made a poor impression on my site, which was launched this wk! In the event of service interruptions are there announcements that could be sent to customers or a page we could visit that details if you all are experiencing a service outage? Lost 2 sales, thank God I know the Ladies and was able to reach out and have them try again!

I just received a capture failed error. Transaction could not be processed due to a payment gateway error. 

Is Shopify payments down?
