Hoping I can have some assistance on the above topic. Our shopify is under our business name and entity. When required I.d is needed who's I.d should we provide. And also will the site be shut down if not given by tomorrow afternoon? Help!!

Hi, I have been using Shopify since 2017 and have never had an issue with payments, but today I receive a banner on my store that says 'To continue receiving payouts, you need to update your name in order to verify your identity.'
When I click on 'Update Personal Details' it takes me to a textbox with the correct name... meaning I have already entered the correct name years ago.
In addition to this, I am unable to find anywhere on the entire website or phone app to change my name, or to upload a photo ID, like everyone else has had to do today.
Is this an error with Shopify? It seems very odd that all of a sudden everyone has had their payments paused.
I am having the exact same problem. And it looks as though someone has tried to log into my account from a different city. I'm a little worried.

There is no place i can submit my IDs, i will appreciate if Shopify also give link to upload those documents.
I just chatted with someone from Shopify and it sounds like its just a problem on their end and their nothing to worry about. I can't remember the exact words unfortunately.

I am also seeing the same notification, to upload by the 28th but the link it gives just takes me to Shopify support, no form or anything to upload any ID. It would be great to have clarification of what needs to be done here!

Hey so my daughter has her own business & when I was setting up her shopify website it asked for a name and the last 4 of a SSN. Me not thinking I used her SSN instead of mines. Now it’s saying they need her driver’s license or some type of identification with her name on it! Is there any way I can change her account & put it in my name & etc?

I get this error after uploading my passport, which has no blank page. I have my photo on it and my name clearly written on my passport. I have even tried front 2 pages of my passport and also Government issued ID. Still I get this error.

My recommendation is to check and make sure your documents appear clearly (no glare, all words legible) and try again. Also, I recommend attempting to clear your cache or trying from a different browser altogether. Let me know how that goes.
Hi I also need help with the photo id as none of mine are in color just black and white and shopify will not except and says my shop will be shut down if not done by a certain time
I am from Portugal and i am currently living in the UK, i have done the settlement already and i am renting a house with all the bills under my name. I have created a dropshipping store and i've already made one sale. Shopify payments asked me to validate my ID and i submitted first the Passport and they said it need to be a colour Photo ID, so i've submitted my Portuguese drivers license and they've declined it too. What should i do? Thank you
I have recently acquired the ownership of a shopify store but the ID must still be submitted by the original account owner it says? Is there anyway I can submit my ID rather than the person who set up the account?

Shopify has no direct customer care to solve such problems. I face same issue with my ID verification. Up till now, my account is still on hold because the system keep rejecting my ID. Now, the submit button is stuck and cannot allow me submit my documents anymore.
I am also having the same issue. We are being asked to verify the ID of someone on the account that isn't involved anymore. How do we change the individual so we can then verify them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

YES same issue here, I enter my social due to Shopify saying I need to upload more documents, and the submit button doesn't work, and I cant take credit card payments.
