I know this feature has been requested in the past but I am requesting it again in hopes to get an update on when USPS SCAN forms will be available.
In order to speed up the process of dropping off packages for myself and the USPS employees, it would be awesome for Shopify to be able to generate a USPS SCAN form for a large number of package drop-offs.
If anyone currently has a workaround, that would be great! Do you still purchase the labels through Shopify and generate a form through another app?

Hi everyone,
As mentioned in this thread already, there is an update on this feature now.
We’re happy to share that you can now generate a SCAN Form for USPS shipping labels purchased with Shopify Shipping using the free Shipping Manifests app. For those who are not aware, when you generate a SCAN Form for a batch of shipments, USPS scans one barcode on the form to accept all of those shipments instead of scanning each package individually. Learn more about how to create SCAN Forms on Shopify.
Thanks again all for your feedback

Yes, Shopify please add this feature! The post office hates me.
Shopify, please add USPS scan form to the platform. So many merchants have asked! My USPS carrier sometimes misses scanning one of my packages when it is picked up, and when it is lost, there is no insurance recovery. Shipsurance does not pay on claims where the tracking only shows pre-shipment. It has to be scanned. When the postal workers have to scan a large # of packages individually, they sometimes miss one. The lack of a USPS scan form generator on Shopify is literally costing merchants both time and money.
Use Pirate Ship. Has great shipping reporting, does end of day scan reports and is free. You get the same rates on the Shopify plan that costs $50 more per month, for free.
What I don't like is that their fulfillment app doesn't show pictures of the products and in my case that's critical.
Tyntpaint: I'm already on the higher Shopify plan (the savings on the credit card fees pay for the upgrade) and Shopify's insurance rates are cheaper than Pirate Ship. Shopify insures for $0.60/$0.75 for $50/$100 coverage on domestic shipments vs Pirate Ship is $0.75/$0.80. When you ship a lot of packages, the extra 5-15 cents add up. I do agree with you that Pirate Ship offers cubic pricing on USPS that the lowest Shopify plan doesn't offer. Cubic pricing only helps if you mail a lot of small, heavy packages though. Other than the cubic option, I have observed that the lowest and the mid-tier shopify plans have the same USPS rates.
myhealthywoe: I agree with you on that. Pirate Ship also doesn't let me do a partial fulfillment on an order, whereas shipping from Shopify lets me choose certain items to ship within an order. Ultimately, Shopify needs to add the USPS scan form functionality. It's inexcusable that other shipping apps can do this and Shopify can't.
This has been requested for years, dont think that anything you bring up here will result in action by shopify. They pretty much ignore their users on the forums.
They cant even get their site to support default shipping methods.
It's pretty crazy that a platform as big as Shopify have not added this feature yet. Not to mention how much time this 1 feature would help save USPS workers everywhere considering how many people use Shopify. Although I would imagine bigger companies have had to switch to a third party shipping provider by now to get around this issue.
Double check your shipping rates with the third party app. We have been using Shipstation and I found out that priority mail is sometimes $2 more on shipstation vs shopify. Also I have found NO ONE that can beat shopify UPS rates. They are 7-8 dollars less than shipstation. Shopify REALLY.. REALLY needs to upgrade their shipping features. I need to be able to print pick list or packing lists at one time for all the order as well as print the end of day form.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us out. At least you can do that since you took away our phone support LOL.
In my case, I have made the comparison between Shopify USPS rates and Shipstation and Shipstation always win. I think this will depend mostly if you are using cubic pricing and the weight of your packages.
I have a workaround that's not perfect but better than getting yelled at when dropping off packages.
I use a Dymo 4XL to print the labels. I print them from the tab as normal, but I also do a second printing to my office printer, using the "More Settings" under print, and do 6 pages per sheet, double sided, at 136% scale. This creates a stack of paper with bar codes that I can just hand to the USPS staff to scan manually. It's not the tidy End of Day form that shipstation creates (I use them for a different order process outside of shopify), but it works.
Is there a way to get SCAN forms now? Just chat with a Shopify help person, who was very nice, but only suggested 2 apps, Shippo and ShipStation that don't have very good reviews. Any suggestions?
