What to do when receiving an unsolicited purchase code?

I just received an unsolicited code which has me concerned someone might be trying to make a purchase using my details... for the most part I've only used Shopify on this PC, which no one else has access to, though I have used my phone to make purchases on a couple of occasions, though it's very unlikely someone ever got hold of it as I'm quite socially isolated.  However I'm not sure why else I would have received a code.  The support bot advised to report and refuse it, but I don't see any options to do so, either through the text or on the help centre.  Any advice?

I understand you recently received a code and are concerned regarding someone possibly using your details/information.

 

If you're receiving a Shop Pay verification code to your device, this may occur if someone incorrectly typed a wrong digit at checkout. This results in sending the Shop Pay verification code to the number that was entered.

 

If you are concerned regarding your information, you can review the Shop Pay Privacy Policy and some options below to explore.

 

  • Force a logout action across all devices as listed in our Shop Pay Log Out resource.

  • Head to this link: https://shop.app from a web browser and login with the email address associated with your Shop Pay account. You can authenticate the account by submitting the one-time code that is automatically sent to your phone number associated with the account, or optionally via the verified email address.

  • Once authenticated, scroll down and expand the Login & security section, and click on Log out of all devices.

  • Another option to no longer receive Shop Pay verification codes is opting out using this link here.
