Accepting credit cards, warehouses, and shipping and fulfilling orders
I am a customer at a Shopify store and had been attempting to check out using my Visa card but I kept facing error in adding the card despite it being a current Visa card with all details accurate. Now I am faced with "You've tried adding a card too many times. You can complete your purchase with a different payment method." How can this be fixed?
Your best course of action would be to reach out to the store in question to ask them if they can see the error code to explain why the card was declined. While the information you entered may have been correct, your bank still declined the charge for a specific reason. The most common errors are:
I would start there, then once you have the information on why your card was declined, you'll want to speak with your bank directly by dialling the number on the back of your card. I suspect the error you're seeing now is a temporary lock and will likely clear after 24-48 hours; however, without first addressing why the card was declined you will face the same issue again when trying to process your order.
