Why did my first subscription payment fail?

I received an email informing me that the subscription payment failed and that it will be retried on 7 October 2022,

this is the first month for me here and I haven't paid Shopify monthly subscription before, however, I paid for a domain from Shopify and it went well with no issues, what could be the problem here?

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with settling your subscription invoice. Payment failures usually happen when there's an issue with your billing payment method. Since this is the case, it's best to reach out to your credit card provider or PayPal support if you use your PayPal account to pay for your billing so the appropriate party can give context around the issue and help you resolve it.

 

If you use Shopify Balance, you may not have the appropriate amount of funds in your Balance account. We have a guide on managing your funds on this page.

 

I hope everything with the store, outside of the billing issue, is going well so far! If you haven't launched it yet, you may want to take a look at this launch checklist to help you set up your store for a successful opening day.
