I don't recall reading about this change, but our POS Lite now doesn't allow you to count your takings (cash) at the end of the day.
It used to have a counting tool and then have a balancing check at the end of the day. You gave it your float, and it told you how much to remove.
Now we just get a list of 'register history' telling us how much our register is 'out' every day - a really c**p way to run your business and manage your takings if you now can't balance things...
Is this another feature Shopify have decided to remove from POS?
Ya, the register setting was "moved" to Pro. Do with that what you will.
They could have done a much better job of how Lite reports session history though. Looks like you’re losing money each day...
This new POS is unbelievably bad. I am actually offended by the basic features they removed. Didnt we have to already pay an extra $40 a month to get the POS function? Now the POS is useless other than taking sales. You cant even do an exchange. Dropping shopify unless they allow us to go back to the old POS. Totally fed up
Appears that the functionality is there - it has just been turned off by an update... why?
haven't been able to confirm this now works as due to lockdown, we're not open to take any cash currently.

The new update disabled cash tracking which is why you can’t add or remove cash. To enable it you need. to click Settings > Payment settings> Cash> Enable Track Cash.
