Total sales doesn’t match with the prices

So, on total sales of the day for example
At certain days shows, as example today: 7.99k total sales of the day, even tho I had 15 orders and each product costs 1.999,99 why doesn’t show with accuracy sometimes the total sales of the day? It doesn’t supposed to show
Like that for me on dashboard, is definitely wrong math

I've experienced this situation as well. And I'd like to know why it happens, and if it is impacting my payouts. Either way, this is just not right and the sort of thing that should NEVER happen.
Also, since I'm replying here, I find it strange that nobody from Shopify ever addressed the original posters concerns.
