Why is my Wisepad 3 showing 'invalid input' at checkout?

The wisepad stopped working and comes up with invalid input on the screen when proceeding to checkout from the app. Using an iPad. Never had this issue before. Disconnected, forgotten, reconnected multiple times but still not working. 

It's under 1 year old

I had the same. Swapped iPads/ wisepads, reset everything to no avail. 
After contacting support they sent a replacement. I still have 6 working fine so it was clearly just a dodgy device..
