Private App to send orders to vendors and update the order status

Hi, 

We are trying to develop a private app so when an order comes in, it goes automatically to right vendor/supplier and also want the ability so that supplier can change/edit the order/fulfillment status.

I am looking for ideas for how to do this with Shopify API's and also is there any other native way to doing so from Shopify admin or using any other app from apps store so we don't need to reinvent the wheel to create own private app.
