So product create API calls are littered with everything deprecated except the mutation

publishablePublish

But this mutation needs scopes with no information and when I tried to get them, did not. And they are not part of private App keys either. So if everything for publishing products is deprecated except this publishablePublish (nice name by the way, real catchy) and we cannot use it because of a lack of scopes, is Shopify suggesting we continue to use deprecated code?

Just curious as creating these tens of thousands of products, in some cases hundreds of thousands with no sales channels assigned is painful... so what are we to be doing about this right now. I just want to ensure my created product is visible in the online sales channel. Simple enough?

No. Apparently, it remains verboten for plebe Apps to be able to deal with any sales channel other than the online store. Sucks to be us eh.

Yeah it really sucks to be a poor developer :(. But you are saying there is at least a way so our own private apps can publish to Online Store without write_publications scope? Because I cant even do that without the scope granted.. Howww? 😄

Published = true and status = active are two settings that are available. If that does not work for you, you're definitely doing something else wrong.

I'm trying to publish a custom created collection to Online Store via API, not a single product. Published=true does not seem to be part of the GraphQL API. Everything is pointing to publishablePublish, which is ridiculous.

Well, since you know the products in the collection, just ensure that they themselves are published before you bother setting up a collection to present them. Not too big of a deal. Makes sense to first off ensure your products are good to go, before putting them in a collection.

Requires write_publications access scope. This scope is currently available only for private apps installed on Shopify Plus stores.
