Add processing / handling fee to the cart when they add a product

Need an app/code to automatically add a mandatory processing / handling fee to the cart when they add a product.

It would also be great to have a small image displayed for what the fee covers in the cart as well.

Thanks for any help!

Willing compensate for a working solution in cash or good karma!

Mel here from Shopify. Thanks for reaching out, I have taken a look and found a solution that may work for the set up you want to create. 

An option would be to use an app like Product Fees & Charges. This app allows you to manage product fees on your products. With this app you can set it that the handling fee is automatically added to the cart with every product, however, the customer is also able to remove it which is probably not something you want.

Another option would be to create a shipping rate called "Handling Fee" and set the parameters so that it's added during the shipping step of the checkout for orders under the conditions you set.

Hi Mel, is the "Handling Fee" percentage calculated as a percentage of the final sale amount or percentage of the shipping cost? Thank you!

For the moment, the app "Canteen" does not allow you to apply fees to all products. And the app does not work on the Ella theme.

Although we do test on over 20 themes on a regular basis, sometimes newer or paid themes work differently as they are all built by different developers.

In terms, of product selection, you can select up to 200 products at a time with one click and then go to the next page to select another 200. We find most of our clients have different rules/fees so they end up hand selecting anyways.

The ability to select all products is essential in the case of fee processing applied to an entire store.
