App reviews, troubleshooting, and recommendations
I am trying to use a Shopify App, YMQ and need help from the app. They are asking for access to my site and want the link to my store. Is it safe and secure to give it to them? I don't know if this app is Shopify developed or a third party app. Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi @wendymassey,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some assistance with the addition of an app to your shop, to ensure this gets resolved.
While the app YMQ Product Tabs is considered to be a third-party app, it is available within the Shopify App Store. Due to this, it has successfully passed Shopify's app review process. To learn more about this process and what it entails, you can check out our App Review Process documentation.
Additionally, every app that you install into your shop will have access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Depending on the function of the app, it will access different types of PII as well as require access to additional information. If this is something you'd like to revoke, you can remove access by uninstalling the app.
To learn more about app permissions, you can check out our App Permissions and Personal Information document as it touches on this further.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
