Is the Image Optimizer app effective for improving site speed?

My site speed is horrible, it just took a nose dive of 6 points in one day. I don't know anything about code so I thought I could at least use an app to minimize my file sizes for  images and whatever else they claim it will do .

Can anyone tell me if this app is any good or have you used one that you would recommend!  Thanks Special Outdoor Gear

Hi @specialoutdoor,

I'm Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly Landing Page Builder. Welcome to Shopify Community!

As you might know, page speed is one of the most important factors that has a direct impact on conversion rates and also purchasing journey of customers. And in fact, there are a lot of reasons that lead to slow page load time, such as fonts, images, codes, you name it.

Using an image optimization app is a good idea to have your images optimized and increase page speed, you could refer to Shopify apps such as TinyIMG, Image Optimizer, etc. Besides, you could refer to this guide about best practices to help optimize page speed.

Hope my answer will be helpful to you.

Best of luck!

Hi, I am Reema, and I head Product at fastshop. I agree with Richard, using an image optimization app is your best bet. Fastshop is a media optimization app, which means we optimize both product images and product videos on your store. We have 850+ brands on Shopify stores today that we do this for, and it's an automated app that does its job without any intervention from you. It also adds NO bloat to your website.

We have a free plan if you want to try us out!

Hi there!

If you are looking to improve your site speed and optimize your images, I recommend trying out the SEOmatic app. While SEOmatic is primarily the SEO optimization app, it also includes a powerful image optimization feature that can help you reduce file sizes and improve your site speed.

The app uses advanced compression algorithms to optimize your images without sacrificing quality, helping you reduce load times and improve user experience. SEOmatic can also automatically generate image alt tags, which can improve your site's accessibility and search engine rankings.

I am hopeful that my response will be of assistance to you.

Sincerely,

Aheadworks team.
