We would like a suggestion on an app with a feature where customers can customize their own name and number on the jersey they are about to purchase as a preview.

You can use Inkybay - Product Customizer app for Jersey personalization, customers can customize their own jersey by adding name and numbers as well as different parts of the jersey (if you want).
