Similar Items Option

Is there a way when a user selects an item to purchase, a similar item they might be interested in would show up?

Similar to Amazon.

If you feel you are capable, it's possible to add a "related products" section to your store by editing the Liquid code in your theme by following the instructions outlined in this article on the Shopify blog. If you're looking for something a bit easier, you can install apps such as Recomatic Related Products and Relatify that help you add related products to your store.
