Update database on new app install

Hi, have an established sass product i would like to add to the shopify app store. 

Currently having issues with the admin panel, i added an iframe in the admin panel pointed to my own websites dashboard.

Now what I would like to do is check wether a user that loaded my iframe has installed the app, and their session is valid.

So my question would be, is there a way to make a call to the some shopify api and check wether a certain session id is valid and if so wether the user has installed my app?

Iframe is a bad idea

It doesn't work on phone
