How can I improve my website design as a beginner?

OK so I'm a complete newbie to website/shop design so I apologise in advance for my lack of knowledge, I want to learn.

This is a demo site, I know it looks a bit rubbish but as I say this is my first time making a shop/website & I lack any kind of design flair - I plan to hire a professional to design it better.

My questions:

Is there a way to add the search/cart/cust account buttons to the header bar with the logo?

How do I get my two stock images on my home page to sit further up the page so they sit just below the three boxes at the top? Also with the three boxes below the header, how do I remove just the right hand side border?

Why is my slideshow at the bottom so big, how can I reduce the size?

Hi @Nickahola which theme are you using? You may need a custom template to make the changes you want.
