Creating a Size Guide/Chart Popup Button for all of my Product Pages

Hello,

I am using a Debut Theme, and I need help in creating a size guide popup button on my product pages. I tried following this link ( https://belvg.com/blog/shopify-size-chart.html) that provides a step-by-step process. Everything was working until I tried to click the size guide button on the product page. The button would not work. 

How can I make a popup without using any apps? Preferably coding. Thank you!

Also, I would love to suggest the AVADA Size Chart. The app is totally free. 
You can easily create different size charts for various products such as bags, shoes, clothes, etc. And you can use premade templates that are fully customizable.

I think AVADA Size Chart can still fit your needs. 
The app supports adding a size chart icon (in float or inline mode) and customers click on that icon, the size chart table will show. 

And you can create different campaigns to show different size charts on specific products/collections.
