How can I add a link to a featured product on the home page?

Is there a way to make the featured item name and image on the home page a link to the product page?

I've seen a few other forums about the same thing but none of them have seemed to work. The closest one I found/liked was this but it resulted in the "add to cart" button not working once it was clicked.

which theme you are working on?

and have you check it on customize theme yet ?

If possible you can drop your store link here and point to part of you need to check.

I'm currently working with the 'sense' theme. There doesn't seem to be any way to add a link to the text (or image) through the customize options.
