How can I improve the quality of a large image on my home page?

Hi!

I have an image on my home page that I would like to increase in quality, the pixels are visible sadly.

How can I upload my image without it losing too much of the quality?

Best regards,

Felix

Hey @Felix_Ghys

I just went to your site and took a look at the homepage. Everything looks great on my end. I'm not seeing any issues with the images you're using on the homepage.

It should be as simple as uploading a higher quality version of the image being used.

Let me know what theme you're using, and then link to your store, and I can try helping further if needed.

Hi!

I’m using the ‘fresh’ theme and this is the link to my store:

I uploaded it in 8000 x 2000 px, exportes straight from a vector file, but
i can still see it’s pixelated. How can i resolve this?

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your reply. Good to know that the quality remains the same.

Would you happen to know how I can scale the first image depending on the device used? As I can see on your screenshot, the text on the first image is cut. Is there a way to fix this?

best regards,

Felix

Hey Felix,

You should check your theme's settings for the slideshow/image block that you're using to see if it allows you to upload a separate image for mobile (in addition to the regular image it's using for desktop).

If it doesn't, then I'd recommend using an image that doesn't have text on it, and then using the theme's built-in settings for adding the text.

Otherwise, your only other option would be to hire a theme developer to custom code the ability to use other images (depending on the screen size of the device being used).

If you wanted to go the custom-coding route, you'd want to hire a Partner from this page: https://www.shopify.com/partners/directory/services/store-setup/customize-theme
