How to have read more after text in collection page.

Hi, I have found online code to make the text on a collection. page READ MORE rather than having all the text shown which is bad visually. The purpose fo the text is SEO. I have the flow theme and have tried several times and it just doesnt work. has anyone got any code and steps on how to make this happen please
