How to modify unavailable for shipping message in Taste Theme?

Taste Theme

 

We have multiple stores and a main warehouse.  We ship online orders from the warehouse but allow pickup orders for the stores.  The stores do not have shipping rates which allows customers to place pickup orders online.

BUT store inventory is still able to be added to carts for shipping until the customer reaches checkout.  If an item is out of stock at the warehouse but in stock at a store.  The customer is simoply told "Shipping is unavailable for your selected address"

 

A couple of questions:

- how can I change that message... I have searched the language editor and this message is not there to be changed

- can I have something appear on product pages letting customers know the product is not available for shipping once our warehouse location is down to 0 inventory?

Hi @TSMShane The wording should be in the language editor as usually all the working is stored there, but if you are unable to find it, then you can update the wording from the code, if you are on the Plus plan. If you are not on the plus plan then you will unable to have the access of Checkout file and unable to update the code and wording through the custom code.

 

2. Yes there can be a workaround so that you can show the details on the product page, Just assuming that you store a track of your warehouse inventory details in shopify, if yes then with the help of custom coding you can achieve this as show the details to customer that the product is not available for shipping but available for store pick up.

 

If you will unable to implement the same then I'm happy to do this for you, let me know. I can implement the code changes so that this will work well for you.

Thanks for your help!

- we are on the Plus plan. Can you let me know where I would find this in
the code?
- it's definitely not in the language editor for some reason - the search
only brings up a different "shipping not available" for a different
situation

- for the details on the product page - this would be above my coding
ability haha

Hi @TSMShane great to hear that you are using Plus plan, so you will not be able to find the wording directly but you need to add custom code through which you can change the wording, as you have mentioned that this is not available in the language section. And I need to look into the code files and the store frontend to provide you the exact code without that I will not be able to provide you the code that will work well with the store.
