Why is my homepage showing as 404 page after theme import?

I imported a theme and now the home page is showing as the 404 page please help.

You know the customize button to open the editor? Next to that is a little-drop down and in that drop-down you will see edit code. Click it.

Go to your theme.liquid file. 

Click anywhere in the file and hold down CTRL then press f (this should bring up a search menu at the bottom). If you are on a Mac I believe it would be Command + F.

Type in title and click next. Take a screen shot of what you see and send it over.

In your customizer make sure the page there where the yellow arrow is pointing to is changed. Click it and see if there is a homepage, or another page name that sounds like it could be the landing page.

when I press the "Home Page" it immediately goes to 404

This looks like a security measure made by the original theme developers to prevent importing themes into stores without buying them first.

Did you check the templates folder for the index.json file? It may be missing after you imported the theme.
