Why isn't Cyrillic font displaying correctly in my Ukrainian store?

Hi!

Our store is in Ukrainian, which uses the Cyrillic alphabet. Our corporate font is Montserrat, which is open Google font having a Cyrillic alphabet and is included in the Shopify Font library. However, when I apply it in the theme settings, only the Latin text is displayed in Montserrat, while the Ukrainian text is displayed in another font. Could you please help to fix it?

Hi @AnnaZmiievska,

Have you tried checking on google font? Refer https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Montserrat

If it doesn't work well even on this, this is a font problem and there is no way to fix it.

But if it works fine, this will be about Shopify, maybe when calling Shopify font doesn't work well, it will be solved when you import the font directly instead of through Shopify.

The font does have Cyrillic characters, we use it for a long time. 

So you mean I need to try to import the font treating it as a custom font, insteas of selecting it from teh Shopify library?

First, you need to go to the link I sent and enter the Cyrillic alphabet, see if it works fine.

If it works fine, you need to add custom font to store, otherwise it's Montserrat font fault, there won't be any way to fix it.
