Re: Mobile view not updating

Why isn't my mobile view updating on the dawn theme?

Hi,

I've been editing my homepage but see that only the desktop version updates and the mobile version does not when I publish. I'm using the dawn theme. Like some help figuring out what the issue is, thank you.

Hi, @bmshop1!

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.

From what you have described, it sounds like you are experiencing a local issue on your device. Are you able to describe your workflow when testing the changes on your mobile version? For instance, are you logging into a mobile device after publishing the changes and logging into the password protected site?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try if your site is not updating:

  • Clear your cache and cookies on your browser. After this, completely reboot the browser.
  • Try a different web browser to rule out any browser issues.
  • When using incognito, if you are still experiencing a display issue, confirm you have disabled browser extensions as these can change how the pages look.
  • Try another internet connection (switching to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi, for example)
  • Ensure you do not have any firewalls or pop up blockers enabled on the device as these can interfere.

Let me know if these suggestions work, and more about your question if this error persists!

Hi, @saltwaterstudio@MiaCho and @Blackluxebrands!

Thanks for joining this thread.

It's possible that an incorrect value as a setting in of one of your files is causing this issue. If this is the case, you can look to revert your theme to a previous version. You can roll back .liquid files individually to a time and date before you made the changes. If it's potentially app related, you will need to uninstall any potential apps.

If you are still having issues, you will want to get in touch with your theme developers for immediate support. They should be able to take a closer look and point you in the right direction. You can contact your developer here to see if they are able to locate the issue. If you require additional support, you can also speak with Shopify Experts. This is a marketplace that connects you to professionals and will allow you to outline your exact requirements to find a solution. Let me know how that goes!

Same issue, tried everything above and not working! This is so annoying when you are trying a major campaign and majority of people visit your webiste on mobile device. This is literally making me losing sales

Hi, @sbatty and @yerkensar!
Thanks for joining this thread, I’d be happy to point you in the right direction.

You mentioned that you are using the Dawn theme and are having trouble updating the mobile version of your shop. By default, any changes you make to the storefront should also update your mobile version as well. This could cause the theme to be unoperational if the theme’s code has been modified or conflicts with an application installed. Feel free to download a fresh copy of the Dawn theme and see if you are still facing this issue. If you completed all of the troubleshooting steps, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through the available contact methods in our Help Center.  If you see the chat assistant, you can ask to contact support and it'll guide you with your next steps on how to connect with a team member. Once you get in touch with support, we will be able to take a closer look.
