I really dislike godaddy....their ecommerce software is probably not very good. Although if there is a problem, at least they have a customer service phone number so you can call in and have someone to talk to.... Shopify makes great looking software, and the features can "get you off the ground", although when your business starts to become a serious online operation, Shopify, due to their lack of customer service will not be an option for our company moving forward. there is just no customer service at all....you can tell this company is made up of technical software people who don't understand the importance of customer service or business relationships.
I have to disagree. I have found Shopify does reply, and quickly, to bugs and problems as I have come across them, but you do need to go through the Support section https://sleepysheep.myshopify.com/admin/support. (There is sometimes online support, but generally you need to send in a message using the form.)
Posting to the Forum is posting to the community of users. I have found incredible help, tips, and information on the Forum; there are some really dedicated users out there.
I am not sure you are comparing like with like phylo. The power of Shopify is deceptive because it is an open toolkit with Liquid, Web Hooks and stuff. I looked at Volusion and although slick it is very much more closed. It's horses for courses though and both systems require some effort. I will be sticking with Shopify because I can see how it meets my needs now and for the foreseeable future. Jonathan www.marketquarter.com
As someone who has tried ””goodbarry”” I can tell you personally it is a piece of flaming crap. It is slow and bloated. It is one of those things that looks great on the outside and promises the world to you but just can’t deliver (sort of like the last three Star Wars movies).
You think you need a developer to customize your Shopify store? You have not seen anything until you get on the back end of that beast.
You think you don’t get support here? They have email support and guarantee and answer within 8 (yes eight!) hours. Try searching the forum, that is actually a trick request as the forum is powered by goodbarry and has no search function. So I take that back browse the forum and you will see a bunch of confused people asking simple questions with no answers.
The first waring on editing a template in Volution is:
Please be advised… editing files requires a strong knowledge of HTML & ASP.
So I think no matter what solution you are looking at you will either need to learn the templating language or “hire a developer”
A case of the grass is always greener.
Here’s some comments on Zeuscart at Site Point: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=592692
@Rashida, this was your very first post here, trying to sell an e-commerce solution when the demo over there, on the main site, was hacked 2 months ago. You’re a spammer.
”.:: HaCkeD By IzRi-InO ::.” on the demo
Now, you have to register to see their demo. Says a lot about how poorly Zeuscart can handle security for their web-based software.
Moving on, nothing to see.
NOTICE TO OTHER CART SALES PEOPLE:
Please, for the love of God, stop spamming community forums. I'm not going to switch carts just because you mentioned it in a spammy post.
If anything, I'll be avoiding you.
I believe the traditional UK name for someone of your calibre is called a Twat. Stop being a twat. Stop spamming.
I'd hate to have to resort to spamming your poxy forums.
