Can I manage two diverse product stores with one Shopify login?

Can you have 2 shopify stores in different industries selling completely different products in one log in? Or will I just have to simply open a separate shopify account?

Yes you can! When you create a new store, just use the same email as you did with the first. When you're logged out of both and click login, Shopify will present you with a page to select which store you want to access. 

Think of your Shopify account as a separate account and your stores are connected to this account. One account can have "access" to as many stores as you'd like.

As ThreeCee suggested, it is a practical possibility, bearing in mind that it does make a difference what you mean by opening "a separate shopify account".

You will have to open, and pay for, two different accounts for your two different stores, but they can be created using the same username/email, and you will be easily able to switch between the two once logged in.

When in your Admin, at the very top left you will see your store name, with a little arrow beside it, which will open a dropdown menu. This will show all the stores associated with the logged in user. As you can see in my screenshot below, taken from my own account, I have three stores I can easily switch between. For Store 1 and Store 2 I am the Account Owner, while I have a staff account on Store 3. Click here for more info on switching between stores.

Both stores will be treated as separate accounts in almost all other aspects. If you decide to use paid themes or apps, these will be charged per store, and you will not be able to share these between the stores for example. 

Depending on your specific needs, how different the stores are, and your stock-keeping setup, you may be looking to combine some of the inventory between the two shops, so it can be managed from one place. In that case, you could consider an app from our app store, like Shopventory or Stockbot Inventory Forecasting.
