Can I sell annual gift subscriptions and report monthly sales?

Hello. I want to sell a subscription (eg a monthly magazine) but as a gift - and the buyer pays up front for a whole year. The issue is I want the sale to be reported as each month so I actually know to prepare and dispatch the magazine. Is this possible ?

It sounds like you want to provide a subscription product where someone could buy it as a gift for someone and pay for a yearly subscription for that gift. You also want to show the sale in your reports on your store.

Is that right? 

If it is, I recommend checking out one of our apps from our App Store. There are some subscription apps which would make it easy for you to allow prepaid gift subscriptions on your store. I searched on Google and found that the Recharge Subscriptions by Recharge app has prepaid gift subscriptions that you can set-up for your store.

Hey Billy! I was scrolling through and noticed this thread. A lot has evolved in what's possible for Gift Subscriptions on Shopify since you posted this. The best part about it is the subscriptions continue on after the gifting period, which was always the big downfall of prepaid gift subscriptions. As a merchant, I'd like to try to get the recipient as a customer for life!
