Can I upload new products using the bulk import feature?

Not sure what category this fits in, but I'm testing out Shopify, and in the Free Trial period...

I was wondering if there was a way to upload NEW products via the Bulk Import feature? I know that you edit existing products this way, but I'm more interested in uploading new products without going thru all of those form fields associated with a new product.

Is it possible to do this? Thanks!

My name is Alison, I'm the Customer Success Specialist for Ablestar apps.

You can both edit existing and upload new products using the import feature on the main product list in your Shopify admin.  This sample file shows the format you need to use, and contains three products, with the first product having three variants.

We have an app available called the Ablestar Bulk Product Editor that also allows you to create new products from a CSV file.  On the free version of the app you are limited to creating 100 products at a time, but it does provide some extra functionality that the Shopify import feature does not. The Ablestar Bulk Product Editor keeps a history of the imports and edits, and it allows you to pull up the newly created products to edit or delete after the import is complete. This help document helps explain the process in a bit more detail.

Thank you... I've already moved on to a non-Shopify solution. Everything I wanted to do or customize seemed to have a price associated with it.
