Do I need to adjust settings for SMS delivery updates?

Does anyone know if I utilize a SMS marketing app to send out delivery updates to my customers do I need to go into my shopify settings and change anything?

Hi @AceBeauty! Perhaps i can help you with this answer: when your customers place an order on your Shopify store, they automatically get the option to set email as a default to receive shipping updates to. So each time there is a delivery update, they get a notification on their email. 

If you wish to change this to SMS, you can give them an option to receive delivery updates by text instead. Customers who then choose to opt for SMS notification, can enter their phone number and give permission to receive updates. Then, they will receive shipping updates by text.

Unfortunately Shopify removed it's built in SMS capabilities recently.

You could install a third party apps for SMS updates for delivery.

We could also help you with the same, with Airnote you could setup automated SMS and WhatsApp notifications for Order and Shipping updates.
