How can I add staff on the Basic Plan?

Trying to add staff, following the Settings > Use and Permissions > Add staff

 

The panel says:

 

Staff accounts—not included on this plan

Upgrade Plan

 

 

 

But Help Bot says I'm allowed 2 staff accounts on my Basic Plan.

I have the same problem, I had the option to add staff, but after I changed the plan and went back to the baasic plan the option disappeared

Greetings, and thanks for posting.

 

Is it possible you are on the Starter Plan, not the Basic Plan? The Starter Plan doesn't include staff accounts which is why I believe you to possibly be on that plan. You can double check by heading to Settings > Plan & Permissions.

 

In the meantime, as it sounds you're just starting to setup your store, make sure to utilize our Launch Checklist to ensure you don't miss a step!

Hi Skye,

 

Thanks for getting back to me. I checked the plan as suggested. It's definitely the Basic plan, albeit with the introductory discount applied.

Yea, I’m having the same problem. The basic account is not allowing us to have staff accounts. It says we have to upgrade again

Update - from what I understand as of 24th January the Basic plan has had Staff accounts withdrawn.

This was done very quietly with no prior warning. Both the Helpbot and the Help Chat Advisors were unaware of the change and continued to advise me incorrectly that staff accounts were still available.

In order to have staff accounts you have to upgrade to the next level plan for 2 x the cost (but seemingly with no other benefits).

 

I began my Shopify subscription prior to that date but have been denied staff accounts.

Complaint raised with billing@shopify.com on Mon 29th Jan, Re-sent Weds 31 Jan and again 2nd Feb.

 

No reply from Shopify.

Shopify removed this and hence Force their customers to Significantly Upgrade from a basic $39 a month plan to $105 a month plan.   I discovered this while I was adding a new store and planning to add  at least a dozen new Shopify stores and noticed the ability to add up to two staff members was Gone,  Removed from the basic  plan.

Good afternoon. I have exactly the same problem. Just last week, I could add staff to other basic plan stores, but today I can't. Does anyone know how to solve this?
