All things Shopify and commerce
Hi,
I'm working on a Shopify app, and I want to provide a free subscription to users for basic features, with the option to upgrade to a premium subscription for additional features. However, when I set the subscription price to zero, the payment page doesn't appear. It only shows up when I set the price to a value greater than zero. How can I provide a free subscription on Shopify? Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi @aishuse18,
It's wonderful to hear that you're planning to offer a free app to Shopify merchants. When it comes to providing a free subscription, you actually don't need to worry about directing users to a payment page. Since there's no charge for using your app, the payment step becomes unnecessary.
Once users complete the OAuth process, which is essential for granting your app the necessary permissions to interact with their Shopify account, they should be able to start using your app right away. This seamless process not only simplifies the user experience but also encourages more merchants to try out your app without any financial barriers.
All the best with your app!

Hello @aishuse18
It does not make sense to create a free subscription. You should only request to create a subscription for premium plans, and leave free plan as default after installing the app.
