Mailing Pop Up Discount Code

Hi,

I have a question about the discount code regarding the email pop up. Well it is a

two part question.

First, I created Mailing Popup and enabled it and created a code

on the theme settings. I was wondering if I have to create that same code on the admin 

coupon page for the customer to be use it? 

Also, after they sign up do they automatically receive an email or do I have to create it and how?
