Shopify & Gooten: Product Details, Tags, Collections

Has anyone figured out the relationship between Shopify and Gooten in Tags and Collections? There does not seem to be a direct correlation. Some of my Tags in Gooten show up with products in Shopify, others don't. Some Gooten collections appear as collections in Shopify, others don't. Gooten has ZERO support here. Anyone have the Secret Decoder Ring?
