All things Shopify and commerce
Greetings,
When I looked at my store today, I noticed something very interesting. It doesn't show any entries from Germany to my store, and it doesn't show up when I look at it from google analytics.
So how am I so sure that there is an entry, I can see that there are entries to my store in the Yandex record monitoring section. Even in the Shopify live monitoring section, it is observed that there is active cart addition, although it says that there is no active person in the store.
Note: Entries from different countries appear.
Are there other people having this problem?
Do you happen to use Shopify's "Privacy & Compliance" app to display the cookie pop up on your store? Since yesterday we are experiencing it erroring out (400 Bad request 'set_tracking_consent.json') and not setting the consent correctly.
Yes, I do, I activated it by changing the default language settings to German.
Shopify support said that they are investigating, but did not came back to us with anything yet.
To double check that you are getting the same error:
1. Open your store in incognito (provided your IP is in Germany so you are eligible to get this cookie pop out)
2. Open dev console (FF or Chrome) with Ctrl+Shift+I or right-click on the page -> Inspect
3. Switch to "Console" tab
4. Click on accept button of the cookie pop up
5. Check if you now see new line appear in the console "POST https://www.yourstore.com/set_tracking_consent.json 400 (Bad Request)"
Then you can a raise support ticket with them too, hopefully that will prompt them to fix it quicker.
The error I mentioned above was fixed for us, so I guess start monitoring if you still experience this problem (in case it was caused by the same error)
I think my problem's fixed. I just saw the data that it was logged in from Germany. Is it the same with you?
