Why is my search function not working in my online stores?

The search function is broken in all areas on both of my Shopify stores. For instance, when you try to send an invoice to someone and search products to put on the invoice. Nothing shows up when searching, it's blank and doesn't work. Same for trying to acquire a coupon code and you are searching for products to apply to the code. Nothing shows up. When trying to send a marketing email and are searching for products to put in the email. Nothing shows up. Shopify has been no help. Anyone else having this problem? What have you done? Help??
