Tagged Customer Discount excl. Tagged Products

Hi, I'm interested in modifying an existing sample script: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/checkout-settings/script-editor/examples/line-item-scripts#tagged... with an additional condition to exclude specific products from receiving the discount based on a tag that the products have applied (e.g. 'exclude-vip'). Can someone please help / advise?
