Hello @brugios94
Hope you are doing well!

As per our analysis, your current store speed for mobile is 29 and for desktop is 65 which is considered poor, most of the audiences are coming through the mobile device and when the loading may take time so at the time customers not feel well and your reach will be gradually very less day by day.

Following things would be done to optimize your store speed: -
1. Full speed optimization Audit.
2. Check and fix all halting Java scripts if any.
3. Check and remove apps' obsolete code if any.
4. Check and optimize all website assets (images, CSS, JS, etc.)
5. Images optimization & compression.
6. Optimize the video section to an optimized version if any.
7. Apply Lazy loading per section wherever required.
8. Check and defer scripts wherever required.
9. Improve liquid rendering time.
10. Improve Largest Contentful Paint LCP [Web Vitals] as per Gtmetrix.
11. Improve Cumulative Layout Shift [Web Vitals] as per Gtmetrix.
12. Improve TBT - Total blocking time as per GTmetrix.
13. Improve FID - First Input delay
14. Pre Load critical assets.
15. Handle third-party script [ app ].
16. Font loading.
17. Compress js and CSS files.
18. Apply CDN where required.
19. Lazyload images and iframes.
20. Remove unused JavaScript from the theme.
21. Preload assets where required.
22. Optimize videos and Gif
23. Improve overall page loading time
24. Implement AMP pages if required.
25. Improver overall core web vitals score based on lighthouse policy.

These are the points that affect your store speed, so make sure about the above points and try to fix all the things and these points are only achieved by a good developer.

Hey, @brugios94.

Thank you for reaching out.

Online store speed can be affected by many different things, some you can control and some you cannot. Factors you can control are:

  • Apps- make sure you uninstall any apps you are not using, disable app features you don't use, and remove any code from unused apps.
  • Themes - disable any theme features you don't use, consider using a theme that's optimized for performance such as our new 2.0 themes.
  • Images and videos- remove or resize any large images, and review the image optimization guide.

By completing these steps your sites store speed should improve, if you are still noticing that it is slow I recommend hiring a Shopify Expert. Shopify experts are trusted third-party developers that can help you with difficult tasks related to your business.

@brugios94 ,

@brugios94 ,

Hello,

Welcome to the Shopify Community...

3rd party apps & codes which take time to load and their size . They decrease the speed.

Need to work on following points

  • Theme Upgrade if there is a scope and upgraded theme available
  • Reduce JS Payload.
  • Use Critical CSS .
  • Reduce Large Image Sizes
  • Compress Images
  • Limit Third Party JavaScript & Shopify Apps
  • Preload Web Fonts.
  • I would suggest limiting to one and using a standard web font.

We will recommend that Shopify users switch to Dawn and take advantage of the better site speed performance score and take advantage of the new features available in Shopify 2.0. If you don't have technical knowledge, then we will surely help with the Shopify 2.0 migration.

Hello @brugios94,

The faster your site is, the more users you are likely to convert. Follow the below tips that will help you decrease the load on your web pages.

1. Image compression is important and a necessity for faster loading web pages. Make sure your images are of good quality and do not add too many images on a single page.
2. Reduce the HTTP requests. For example: Combine & inline your CSS scripts
3. Minimize broken links and redirects - Avoid unnecessary Redirects and fix broken links
4. Using slideshow, which are high-quality images combined with transitions, take time to load when the user clicks the link to the homepage. So instead you can use a single high-quality hero image.
5. Always choose a theme that is responsive, fast, and takes minimal time to load the page. If you choose a theme with numerous sliders, fancy animations, advanced navigation systems, etc., will affect your page speed.
6. Don't add too many products in the Home page

If your website takes longer than 3 seconds to load, 40% of your traffic will be lost. A slow-loading website can reduce your conversions and profits. A fast-loading website is essential to welcome massive traffic to the website. In the case of eCommerce stores, speed and page loading time play a pivotal role in the success and growth of businesses. When your customers search on Google, your product can be found only if Google has indexed the page. Your customers trust Google Search more than Ads. 53% of eCommerce traffic is Search, far greater than Paid Ads & Social Media combined. flareAI works every day for you, tapping into Google Search and 20+ of world's best & biggest free sales channels.
