Hello Everyone!
This is my store URSMARTHOME.IT and this is my Instagram PAGE I am struggling a lot to get traffic and even worse to get sales. In 3 days since I started the Instagram page and adv, I've got approx 200 views on the website and ZERO orders.
I don't know if I'm missing something, or my products are just bad.
What do you think? I accept ALL critics and advice.
Thank you !

Hi, @UrSmartHome, I think there are some points that I would address in your store, but first I just wanted to congratulate you on starting an instagram page with already almost 1k followers in so few days! Social media takes time, but you seem to already be growing quite fast. So, congrats!

Circling back to your site, this is what I see as soon as I open it:

VideoFAQ_0-1679683468569.png

Some of these points are positive, some are neutral, some are negative. Let me explain:

1. Pretty positive, like this localization bit. Important to have it!

2. Find it somewhat negative first because the color blends in a little with the background, and the copy is somewhat weak. How is my life going to be simplified? Try to answer that concisely and change colors to have better contrast here.

3. Neutral, i like that I can get rid of that banner quickly.

4. Positive, good use of the banner area with some important info!

5. Somewhat negative. I realize that's probably the default of your theme, but up-and-to-the-right is usually a relevant space for a clear CTA. Those icons, as common as they may be, don't show me anything relevant.

Moving forward, I would try to answer the following questions:

1. What are all this 200 visitors doing after they visit the site?

2a. If they are bouncing, I would work a lot the homepage: is it the pricing? Is it the copy? Maybe add some exit intent pop-up?

2b. If they are not bouncing, but dropping somewhere after the homepage, where is it? And then would improve on that page.

Hope that helps!

Hey there! First of all I'd like to thank you A LOT!

I would ask, if you may give me an advice, what color should I use for 2 ? Any other words too maybe?

Point 5 I guess I will get rid of search and log in and only leave cart. Maybe try to put a button there(what kind of tho?)

I don't know , but I guess they are bouncing. The most viewed page is the one that I advertise with my reels(bit they bounce from that too). Should I write the price in my adv??

The prices are neither high or low, it's an average of Amazon ecc. Should I put them lower at beginning to gain customers?

For coloring, I'm really not the best designer out there haha, but I usually use either coolors, or colorhunt (both websites) for this!

For the wording, I like following the "And so what?" rule. AKA, "makes your life easier" -> "and so what?" -> "so you will spend less time doing choirs". Now that's something emotional and powerful!

The button for point 5 should be what you want them to do next. Is that to see your products? If so, make it something like "See products" that can either scroll the page down, or go to the products page.

To write the price in your ad, or not to write, i honestly can't tell because i feel that's the type of thing that only testing can answer.

But, I don't think that lowering the prices without much strategy would do you any good. If they are already average, perhaps it's a trust issue the visitors are having and/or a "nice, but no need to buy right now" feeling.

Ok, sounds nice. I will think about a color to get in contrast but not too different.

I was thinking about "Take a look at our products, simplify your daily life. And so what? So you spend more time relaxing."

CAT "Bring me there"

What do you think??

It was quite of a brainstorm ahaha

Yeah, what I suggest is using coolors, fixing the colors you must have (such as the ones on your BG), and then shuffling until find one that matches.

About the text, you don't need to literally put the "And so what?" in there hah. "Take a look at our products, and then spend more time relaxing" has a nice ring to it.

CTA being "Send me there" sounds good too.

Haha, quite the brainstorm indeed 🙂

Hey, sorry for not replying earlier! Yesterday was such a rush, and I could only stop now to look at past threads here in the community. Thank you for waiting!

Giving renewed feedback:
1. I don't know what you did, but I use the famous adblocker uBlock Origin. And I say this because, if it's turned on, your homepage is just loading blankly for me. Please, install it (or a similar) yourself and check it out. You don't want customers dealing with an empty white page!

2. Once I turn it off, though, it's waaaay better now! Love the new, better contrast, and the trustpilot pointing. Such a clear authority gesture! Chef's kiss!

3. I see you have a "Reviews" tab that is empty, I would remove it because you already have the home banner pointing to trustpilot for that same purpose. To be honest, I would replace it with Video FAQ, because especially for home products like this, just imagine being able to showcase them to your customers. I know I'm biased to talk about it, but it makes perfect sense for products like yours to have it, don't you think?

Hi @UrSmartHome,

This is Richard - CRO Expert at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app

Congrats on your new store! Your store looks stunning and professional, and I can tell you've put in a lot of effort. I understand that experiencing low sales or this issue can be frustrating. From my CRO expertise, I’d love to give you my suggestions hereby

Homepage

1. Make the menu sticky

  • A sticky menu header helps customers to reach out to the menu and access the menu anytime they want.
  • A sticky navigation bar will help customers navigate from every part of the homepage to any page of your store more conveniently.

PageFlyRichard_0-1679893427986.png

2. Feature your top collections

I see you attempted to showcase your products on your homepage. That’s great, but don’t just stop there. You should also feature some highlight collections and redirect to the collection pages. This helps customers know that you have more products to offer and they still have a lot more options to explore. It looks a little something like this:

PageFlyRichard_1-1679893427885.png

3. Add trust badges, tell your brand story

Your products are not everything, your brand credibility is important too. Using trust badges can help you with that. A trust badge section should tell the customers what you have to offer, maybe Free shipping, a Money-back guarantee, Certified products, and so on. There’re a lot of apps for trust badges you might want to check them out on Shopify App Stores. Basically, a trust badge section should look something like this

PageFlyRichard_2-1679893428288.png

In addition, it’s also essential to have a brand story section on your homepage. Tell the customers what you do differently, and why they should choose you over other brands out there. This will also help increase your brand credibility and encourage your customers to make a purchase. A brand story section can look something like the image below.

PageFlyRichard_3-1679893428298.png

4. Add testimonials - customer reviews

Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers' trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews as text and photos. This section can also help you increase your conversion rate because reviews from previous customers have a big impact on your potential customer’s buying decisions.

PageFlyRichard_4-1679893427582.png

5. Create a unique sign-up form

Having a sign-up form on your site, your customers can subscribe to your newsletter to receive product information, any sales campaign, etc from your store. Make use of your sign-up form and be creative with it, like adding a background image. You can take a look at the image below for an example.

PageFlyRichard_5-1679893427884.png

Collection page

1. Highlight the “Filter and Sort” feature

According to Blue Stout, adding button styling to the Filter and Sort selection on Collection pages results in a 16.3% increase in conversion rate and a 26% increase in the likelihood of customers using the sort/filter functions. Adding a bolded black contrast on an important Filter and Sort feature allowed visitors to get to the product they were interested in that much quicker. Less confusion, more user-friendly design.

PageFlyRichard_6-1679893428038.png

2. Create an awesome filter

  • Create specific filters for the most popular categories. Don’t just rely on simple filters like price or date. You should think of what people really want to differentiate between various items.
  • Put the most important filters at the top. The list of filters doesn’t have to be in alphabetical order. Sometimes certain product filters are highly important to the user.

Plus, Google monitors how quickly and easily your customers move around your site. It also takes filters into consideration, since filters serve as a map for those customers. Since bounce and abandonment rates usually decrease with filters, Google will most likely notice this, meaning your SEO ranking can jump.

PageFlyRichard_7-1679893427854.png

3. Add average ratings for each product

You should include both the user rating average and the number of ratings on the product list items. This is one of the crucial elements of users’ purchasing decisions. They will rely on both to decide whether they should explore further a product. You can take the image below as an example.

PageFlyRichard_8-1679893428379.png

4. Add links to other best-selling collections at the bottom of each collection page

According to Blue Stout, adding links to your other best-selling collections at the bottom of each collection page keeps customers on-site, leading to a 17.3% increase in conversions. Redirecting to specific high-performing categories at the end of the page eliminates the need to scroll back up into navigation. Once a customer reaches the end, give them the option to narrow their search by linking to a popular category collection.

PageFlyRichard_9-1679893427420.png

Product page

1. Create a FOMO effect

A recent test by the Blue Stout team shows that using visitor data helps increase the conversion rate by 42%. Creating the FOMO effect by adding a line of real-time visitor data next to the add-to-cart button can add major sales to your store. This sense of urgency makes your customer perceive its popularity, leading to a confident purchase.

PageFlyRichard_10-1679893427541.png

2. Display a minimum of 6 reviews by default and allow users to submit reviews

Normally, users often rely on reviews to judge a product besides product detail descriptions and other info given by a site since they consider them more legit and authentic. I would recommend you display product reviews on your product page (a minimum of 6 reviews) with the ability to “Load more” and allow users to submit their reviews.

3. Provide a list of “Recently viewed” on Product pages

You should make the most use of product pages by recommending other products that your customers might be interested in to increase your conversion rate. Also, you should provide a history-based recently viewed items list for all users (including those who aren’t signed in), and consider allowing users to edit it.

PageFlyRichard_11-1679893427867.png

Page speed

Page speed is extremely crucial for both buyer’s experience and Google ranking, so you could consider Shopify themes made to help you boost Google page speed score for your store such as Blum, Refresh, Dawn…

Your page speed is not so good right now. You can improve your page speed by optimizing your images or reducing unused code on your site.

PageFlyRichard_12-1679893427482.png

PageFlyRichard_13-1679893427816.png

I hope it helps and happy selling!

Hello Richard, thank you for your feedback!
I added the sticky menu, now I am providing the collections under products. I can't highlight the filters since my theme doesn't allow me to. I already have a reviews page, but not product reviews(since I don't have any lol). I am also dealing with the code, but I'm a bit afraid of deleting something and break the site haha
