How can I make my new online store look more trustworthy?

Hi I just started on shopify 3 days ago made the online store and added the products. There are custom designs using printful as the supplier and printing service. I do have a total of 500 visitors so far using insta ads, but I'm wandering if the appearance of the website makes it look like it's not real or it's some type of scam. The prices are good considering it takes 2 people to sit and literally design from scratch. The mockups are quite nice. I would like some feedback though. I may not know all the right tools yet too.

Love your store, it looks really promising! Yet, it can use some more improvements so here I’ll drop some suggestions that might help enhance your store even further:

1. General

 

  • Update your favicon: A good favicon reflects a brand clearly and professionally. It looks fine for now, but for some others, it might be illegible. I suggest having only the logo of your brand (the big letter “U”) on a transparent background be used as your site’s favicon.

  • Use a different font: Your store is using the theme’s default font. If you like it, you can leave it as is. But I suggest using the font you used on your hero banner throughout your store to create consistency as well as uniqueness and identity for your brand.

2. For the Homepage

 

  • Optimize your header: Your current header is way too big; and you even made it sticky so it blocks about 25% of the screen as visitors scroll down your homepage. Consider reducing the height of your header to about 2/3 of how it is now.

  • Optimize your banner: Your banner looks great! One small suggestion from me is to pull up your CTA button above the fold (that is, right on the screen the moment visitors enter your store). Also, make sure you make your CTA dynamic, stand out by giving it a different color on hover, a subtle animation, anything that makes visitors feel the urge to click on it.

  • Utilize your announcement bar: Announcement bar (above the header) is where you place your latest, ongoing promotions and discounts your store offers. Besides telling your visitors to check out your Raccoon bag, you can also let them know a 25% discount is happening before a certain date by putting a countdown timer there.

  • Add more sections: One major problem with your homepage is that it is incomplete. Homepage is where your visitors start their shopping journey, and also the place where they determine if they want to stay and shop or not, in seconds. Make it count, by adding more sections to persuade them that they are in the right place to shop: like About us, Featured Collections, Featured Products, Benefits, Testimonials, Newsletter, etc.

  • Include legal pages: These often overlooked factors are actually crucial, both in terms of legal reasons and letting your visitors know that their purchases are protected. Consider adding legal pages onto your footer like Shipping policy, Refund policy, Privacy policy, TOS, etc.

 

 

3. For the Collection page

 

  • Add secondary images on hover: Your products on your current collection pages only display a subtle zoom out animation on mouse hover, which is fine. But you can make it better by having a secondary image whenever a mouse is hovered over a product so that people get the idea of that product in different angles, or tried on by a human.
  • Make your discounted price stand out: Discounted prices grab attention big times. Make them stand out by having them in bold and in different colors like red.

  • Add customers’ star ratings: Consider adding customers’ star ratings right below the title to increase trustability.

 

 

4. For the Product page

 

  • Use color swatches: When you use plain texts to describe colors, visitors might not know what exact color you’re referring to. Cases like “turquoise and teal” justify this. Avoid this easily by using color swatches so that people know what they’re getting upon purchase.

  • Include more info in product’s description: Your current product description has got 50%. Complete the rest 50% by displaying your description in accordions, in which you can include these contents: Description, Size chart reference, Benefits.
  • Add customers’ ratings and reviews: Consider adding customers’ star ratings right below the title, and their reviews below the product details section. All of this should help increase trustability and promise many more potential purchasing decisions.
