How can I modify the default email language for customer orders?

We change the language settings already so that it's English by default. However, when a customer makes an order on our Shopify website, they will receive a Chinese email in the mailbox. Where can we change the language settings for that part?


No matter what default language that users have, it will always show Chinese

Thanks for reaching out in our Community Forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.


I understand that your customers are receiving their confirmation email in Chinese instead of English. Kindly head over to your Shopify Admin > Settings > Notifications > and click on Order confirmation. From there, you should be able to see the preview of the email. Are you able to confirm which language is displayed here? You can also revert your code to default to see if that helps. Once that's done, try to change your theme's language back to English which should make the email template language also change.


Feel free to share some more information and I'd be happy to troubleshoot further if the above does not solve the issue.
